The name isn’t critical I don’t think, but since it’s a slight advantage, even though we’d all prefer cool names, might as well.

never a truer word said. One of my main sites, has a pretty dumb domain name and I wished I’d have thought it through better.
But now, 1.5 million members later, I’m too scared to change the name incase the 301 don’t work properly.
But yeah, always consider your domain name properly, not just for CTR, but for people to take you seriously too.

Unless you plan on doing some pay per click marketing, the domain name just needs to make sense to the search engine. If it makes sense to the search engine then the domain name is but a fraction of the listing. If it’s PPC though the domain is almost half of what they’ll see in the listing.

A network of websites isn’t a bad idea. Just like they say….don’t put all your eggs in a bag, but always focus on the main goal…..traffic is really important I don’t care how long it takes you really need it.

The domain name is not all. What matters the most, I think, is the content which matches the need of the visitors. If it’s true, they’ll try remember your domain name even if it’s a name that you coin like google, yahoo, etc.
